Pink Chai CIC Launches Breast Cancer Awareness Month Across UK Communities

1 October 2026 — UK: Pink Chai CIC has launched its Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign, bringing communities across the UK together to raise awareness of breast health, challenge stigma and encourage women to take earlier action.

From Wolverhampton and Worthing to Newcastle, Oldham, Coventry and Exeter, as well as communities across Bradford, Huddersfield, Manchester, Birmingham and London, people are joining the campaign under the message: “Serving hope, one cup at a time.”

The initiative uses the familiar tradition of sharing chai to create welcoming spaces where women can talk openly about breast health, learn about possible signs and symptoms, understand the importance of NHS breast screening and feel more confident seeking medical advice when they notice a change.

Throughout October, Pink Chai Mornings, Pink Chai Afternoons and community events will be organised in places where people live, work, study, worship and socialise.

Pink Chai CIC has a particular focus on South Asian communities, where cultural, language and awareness barriers can sometimes make conversations about breast health more difficult. The campaign aims to create trusted and culturally sensitive spaces where women can discuss their health without fear, embarrassment or stigma.

Dr Musharraf Hussain, Chair of Pink Chai CIC, said breast cancer awareness should be viewed as a community responsibility and highlighted the importance of creating environments where women feel confident discussing their health and seeking medical advice.

Cllr Ferdousi Henna Chowdhury, Board Member of Pink Chai CIC, said the campaign aims to reach women in a welcoming, culturally sensitive and accessible way, adding that every cup of chai can provide an opportunity to start a conversation that could encourage someone to take action.

Ashah Nadeem, Ambassador for Pink Chai CIC, said she was proud to be part of the growing movement and stressed the importance of education, early detection and encouraging women to seek help when they notice changes.

Muzahid Khan MBE DL of Pink Chai CIC said the initiative was growing as communities across the UK took ownership of the message and brought Pink Chai activities into their local areas.

Pink Chai CIC is inviting communities, businesses, workplaces, schools, colleges, universities, charities, faith organisations and individuals across the UK to take part during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The campaign’s message is simple: “One conversation. One check. One life.”
